get an ls engine or buy and rx7?

do you guys think i should get an ls engine for my hatchie or buy an 87 rx7?

i need an engine with more power im my civic until i get done with my z6 turbo project, and i can get the integra ls engine, tranny, seats, console and whole dash and door panels for 700.00

what all would i need FROM the car to do the ls swap? i already have a set of engine mounts what were givven to me by a good friend

the 87 rx7 in in great condition with leather and power everything, and the upside to the rx7 is....i can drop a chevy 350 small block into it with less money than it would take to have someone do a honda swap (just labor) an rx7v8 will run 13's with a bone stock 350, and if any of you are fimiliar with american muscle cars.......great power can be obtained for very little money....so 9's and 10's wouldnt be too far in the future

I'd like the idea of the rx-7 but then it wouldn't be as fun as drivin a swapped car. I know its not gonna be as fast but it's really fun. I'd go with ls motor cause your getting a great deal! SO far u need a shift linkage from Hasport and 90-93 integra axles along with intermediate shaft if it doesn't come with one. You also need the throttle cable bracket from place racing which cost about like 18 bucks or get a 2nd gen integra throttle cable.I believe thats about it! Well good luck!

87? Is that the tiny ass 1st gen, or the halfway decent 2nd gen?

Here is a pic of a 2nd gen for reference

let me clarify.......i would be dropping a 350 chevy small block into the rx7.....not keeping the rotary......bone stock chevy 350 dropped in an rx7 would run 13's, and chevy performance parts are very cheaply obtainable......so 8's-9's wouldnt be too far off......now think about it.....how much money would i have to drop into my hatchie to make it see 8-9 sec 1/2's? WAY MORE THAN IT WOULD BE WORTH TO ME

the answers your looking for are going to be very biased since you posted here...and since you did post here im going to assume that you want the b18 and that you just need a little convincing, so hell yea get some b18 action!

Man an RX7 with a Chevy LT1. That would own. :smoka:
Rotary's tend to have lots of problems. Even a Chevy would be more reliable. I say go for it.
