2000 grand Marquis with lights going on and off when Parked.?

My 2000 Marquis All the sudden started to turn on its lights when It is parked in front my house. They will come on in the middle of the night. Some times Just the head lights and tail lights come on. and sometimes just the interior lights come on. I have my lights set on the off position. This is a problem because it keeps killing my battery. Last night I had to jump it to go to work, and i just disconnect the battery when I get there just in case. ANY SUGGESTIONS. IS THERE A RELAY THAT CONTROLS ALL THE LIGHTS? ANY HELP

Thanks

Sounds like a bad lighting control module. You will need to take the car to a shop that has a high-end scan tool so that the module can be tested, since this is a $400 dealer part.

Also, I found a Ford Parts Store online Selling the Lighting module for 227. Do you think that is for sure the problem? What I have been reading I beleive it is. If i go to a Shop To read the car, Im sure it will be around 100 dollars for them to diagnose the problem. I found where the module is, and it looks easy to replace so I think I am going to call this ford parts store and order it. Thanks for all your help.

Nothing is for sure unless the part can be tested, but that is what I would bet my money on. You might want to try your local wrecking yard, the modules also fit out of a crown victoria.

i agree with reekor. it does sound like a shorted LCM. i wou ld take it in though and have it looked at THEN if that is the problem you know where it is and you can replace it yourself.

Re: 2000 grand Marquis with lights going on and off when Parked.?

Guy's I brought it to a repair shop, He put it on a computer and could not find any problems with the car or with the electrical system. He had the car for almost 8 hours and could not find anything. He saw the lights go on and off but he said he just can't trace it down. He told me to bring it to the dealer. I am scared to even think what ford would charge me to fix that problems. IS THERE ANYTHING, ANYTHING AT ALL ELSE TO DO? i TRIED A LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE FROM THE JUNK YARD AND IT DOES THE SAME THING.
