Re: spark plug wires

i like magnecor wires but they cost a bit more, and hard to find at speed shops.

they make the car run smoother and every sparkplug wire does not give you horsepower, but only restores it because of faulty ones.

Hey tran_nsx can you return the MSD's? I would because I had a set and they where the worst wires ever. They would not seal properly on the valve cover and sparkplug and wpould also pop off the dist cap from time to time. I absolutely hated them, returned them and the new set did the same thing, it looked like they were half ass put together. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you know what to look for, incase you need to return them before they get dirty. I have a set of ACCEL's now and they fit just like OEM I love them, have had zero problems with them and felt like a little better throttle repsonse too with the ACCEL wires, I dunno though could have been I was just excited about them fitting right LOL. Good luck hope they work out.

Re: spark plug wires

i just wrote an e-mail to them so lets hope so whtteg. yeah i was kinda surprised when the catalog said they have wires for a 1.8 ls integra sohc, im thinking do we even have any here is the U.S.? i wanted msd because they made some good products so i thought this would be one of them, maybe not by what ur telling me. now i might go with magnecor or accel since they are pretty good, but i'll loook around to make sure if there's any other good brands. the nology wires are just wasy too expensive and although their theory does sound true, i doubt they will give me the hp gains that i'll pay for.

Re: spark plug wires

The actual wire is great actually I think it is about the best it is just the ends thyat are crappy LOL The actual wire has the least amount of resistance of all the ones on the market, or so it was about 6 months ago. If they could just put on better ends and put them on right they would be great.

honestly, they aren't really going to show any gains that u'll be able to feel, BUT like sedan said...if u've got some older ones, then they'll get ur motor closer to 100% of its normal potential.

ur guys money tho...if u'd like to send it to me instead...send all funds to KrNxRaCer00ispoorandneedsmoneysohist...seplease. com

let me know about those ngk irrdiums, it's getting close for a tune up for me. they're quite pricey though, so i'd rather hear if its worth it first

Actually the ACCEL wires were about the same price as all the other wires sets including honda wires, but I thik the reason I felt a difference was because the MSD's did not fit any where near good and the ends felt like they were hoing to pull apart etc.

i felt a difference when i replace just the plugs in my crx si. took out the old ones out, put in some bosch +4 and there was difference, it felt stronger and at the same time better responce. the only problem though was that after 6 months or so, it started to lose the power. i checked the plugs and for some reason, it was already rusted and corroded.

also here's a comparison of some plugs. if u think about it the the ngk's are better than regular or oem plugs correct? so here's a dyno of some bosch against ngk- http://www.importreview.com/reviews/BoschVSNGK.html
the bosch platinum had one more hp than the ngk v-power, too bad they don't have a dyno of the ngk irridium ix. my point, ngk v-power are bettter than oem, bosch platinum is better than ngk v-power, so my inference would be the ngk irridium would be better the the bosch if not the same. yes i know this isn't a lot but for the price it's not bad compared to a sri which is barely freeing 1-2 hp if any at all which cost around $60, even more somtimes. so a combination of high performance plugs and wires compared to oem, there could be an increase of 3+ hp.

but, from the looks of it, that single cam has some more mod's than jus those plugs.

wut i was saying is that a nearly stock motor (sorry for leaving this out), u aren't going to see gains worth the money. more like % points of a hp for a close to stock motor.

an i didn't say i'd buy OEM ones (i purchased some moderately priced NGK's for the gsr), all im saying is that spending over $20 on jus wires isn't worth it.

an 1-2hp from SRI? the freed power between SRI/CAI aren't that significant. only 1-2 hp usually seperate the two. so more like 3-5. (this is off-topic, lets take it to PM's if u'd like to further this point).

Re: spark plug wires

fuck dudes. I started this thread a year ago! I bought my plugs and wires forever ago. Anyhow i love them. I got ngks iridiums and wires. Then very top end (maybe the last 1000 rpm) definitely pulls better. The rest is unnoticable.

holy crap can't believe someone pull out a thread this old and none of us notice it, well next time please start a new one, but hell it was darn funny

so i see u thought it was quite better with the upgraded wires and plugs. oh how's the plugs longevity? hopefully it did go bad as quickly as the bosch+4.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!! Why can't newbies learn that you don't revive old dead posts? It is just like that stupid GSR vs Z24 thread that seems to never remain dead. And people bring them back to the top for such stupid, pointless comments. We need a mod to come in and lock some threads like that LOL.
