69 firebird hood

There is a 67-69 fiberglass reproduction ram air hood on craigslist that I am looking at buying.
It is made by Classic Industries.
I was just wondering if anyone knew about these reproduction hoods actually being a good fit or if there is some problem that people have with them.
I only ask because I have seen them up for sale by owner uninstalled before, And was nervous that people had bought them then found they did not fit.
Thanks for any input,
Will
"pontiac" reproductions scare me because often they are just modded camaro repro parts.

Re: 69 firebird hood

Will,

Classic Ind. is mainly a Camaro outlet, as you have alluded to. There are two Pontiac-specific restoratioin houses. They won't sell you Camaro parts... Ames Performance and Performance Years. Rules of this board prevent me from giving out the site links.

VFN is the better fiberglass outlet I Know of. I have no idea who makes the hood for Classic. Classic makes nothing, only a marketing front.

Understand the 'glass hood is much lighter, and much more "flimsy", so "special" hinge springs are called for.

Is there a particular reason you want fiberglass? Weight, I suppose? If not, GoodMark hoods are excellent reproductions.

Jim
