Re: new to imports

Honestly your motor is not built for speed. If it was speed you wanted the SI would have been your best bet. Your car is made for fuel economy and cost savings. You might want to focus on things you can do like lower the car, rims, tint the windows, spoiler, some CF, a nice sound system. Go for looks not speed and you will be happier.

Re: new to imports

Your best bet is to start researching a "K20" swap. Thats the engine code in case you weren't familiar. A k20 does have a lot of potential NA, but K's love boost...stock engines have pushed past 650whp

Re: new to imports

The above suggestions are great if you have 6k lying around. But if you had that kind of money and knowledge I'd suppose you would have bought a faster car to begin with.......

True true....K swaps are spendy, but some people think its worth the cost. IMO, sell it and get something faster or live with it as is

the engine is substantially older than the car he drives; therefore, illegal in most states on top of being a hell of a lot harder to swap than on OBD2a cars prior to 2001. I dont know what other swaps, besides K series, are available for 2005 models

Why?? If done right NOS wouldn't hurt your engine and is cheap and could add serious HP to that engine..

Re: new to imports

I would personally never use Nitrous on one of my cars...i'd rather save up and get something better. IMO nitrous is like leasing power...you spend a little at a time to have fun, but in the end, you have nothing to show for it

Leasing power @ 75 extra HP below $1k

Unlike the other bolt-ons, they're still being used even when you don't need it.

It's cheap power and better than tearing down an engine to gain less for more. But if everyone had thousands to spend then we'd all have Superchargers or Turbochargers.
