So i was driving down main street today and my SES light just came on. Any ideas? i'm at almost 83000 miles and these dudes from the dealership keep calling telling me to get my 84k service, but its not covered under warranty, and ideas on that either (worth it or not?) ok, thanks.

Drive with it on for a while...chances are that a random code just got tripped to fuck with you and will clear in a few days. I had a code trip that said my cats were shot....that cleared and never seen it again. If the car runs fine, dont worry about it...just make sure your basics are covered like oil, belts, tranny fluid, engine temp, plugs and you will be OK. If it dont clear then get it looked at.

Re: SES light

well considering you didn't know what to do when the light came on, I would have someone else look at it.

if you think i'm full of it though, most any project can be accomplished by anyone with decent working knowledge of mechanical things and no amount of downtime or money that they can't endure.

Re: SES light

All you need is a friend with a diag pc, my ses light came on and the car ran fine so I took it to a buddy and it showed the O2 sensor B1 (bank 1) S1 (Sensor 1) was running lean we reset the code and its been a month and no ses light. Some times the pcs trip up on something and throw an ses light for no reason.

Re: SES light

just an update. The SES light went off today while I was driving. Also got the oil changed and washed the car (not that it has anything to do with its performance, but it looks pretty again).
