Cooling fan test

I would like to check if my cooling fans are comming on. What is the tricks to checking when/if they come on. Is there a temp setting or do they stay on all the time?

Thanks all

Re: Cooling fan test

The primary fan should come on around 220-230 avgerage and go off at 200-205 ish.

The secondary fan is on mainly when the A/C is in use.

Re: Cooling fan test

yeah secondary depends on the a/c being on and what speed you are going. if you want to test the primary just ground the temp switch wire that is on the right side (passenger) head.

Re: Cooling fan test

you can also jump the cooling fan relay on the driver side firewall, however, if you get it wrong, and jump the fuel pump relay (speaking from experience), youll blow the fuel pump fuse that is at the end of a harness pigtail over by the radiator overflow tank. just a heads up on that. i wound up getting my car towed because of a blown fuse i couldnt find. i got laughed at for a week at the shop for that one.
