3.4 liter engine intake manifold

I need some concrete advise. On my intake and engine are several spots that look ever so slightly corroded where the gasket would normally sit. On one site I went to they say to use a thin layer of black silicone to fill in these minuscule low spots so that the gasket will sit flush with the surface. My question is can I use a two part epoxy made by LPS to fill in these tiny low spots and get the same result. This composite is drillable, machinable and oil and gas resistant. I used a scotch brite pad with WD-40 to scrub the surface by hand to clean it.
