Re: 2008 STi

Very nice find.

Im a big Subaru fan, in process of saving for an STi(used). But im really not liking the styling anymore. The bug eyes looked really cool, it was a unique, quirky style. the 04 and 05s also gorgeous. The 06 styling was still pretty good looking, it grew on me, the nose looked kinda funny tho. However, im so dissapointed with the 08s. The WRX looks ok, but i wouldnt even consider the STi. Granted i dont like 5 doors in general so i am a bit biased. I think Subaru wanted to make it more appealing to a general audience, and market the WRX as an affordable performance sedan. The styling was toned down and less aggressive to appeal to a wider group of potential buyers. But along the way, it lost a lot of the features and styling that made it unique in the first place.

Re: 2008 STi

I wasn't to hot for the car at first either, but every time i drive by a new one at the dealership it grows more and more on me, especially when i get out and just look it over...something about it draws me to it...maybe it's just the fact it's a subaru.

Re: 2008 STi

I will kick myself in the ass later if i end up liking it You are probably right though. I didnt like the 06s THAT much upon the initial release. Still, i think Subaru needs me on their design team

Re: 2008 STi

Ugh, Subaru just can't get it right in my book... I don't know what it is, but something just doesn't pull me towards liking that car... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the car is bad when it comes to performace, just the styling isn't really... me... I guess that's one way to put it...

I almost got myself to start liking the last years model, after long days and unslept nights, I still didn't let it get me. Now this year they try something different once again, and yet I still think it's missing something... God, please don't ask me what, because if I knew I'd send them a feedback letter...

Just my ... However, I'm not going to jump into conclusions, maybe this cars ends up growing on me over time... Who knows?

Re: 2008 STi

Its a great car. I hate the look of it but Subarus are suppposed to be ugly. Its like part of thier formula: Ugly car, great handling and half a dozen WRC trophies.
I think the only good looking subaru was the 97 Prodrive P1 STI.

Re: 2008 STi

I like this WRX better than the previous years. I always thought the previous years looked cheap and cartoonish but this 08 looks a little more elegant. A few Japanese car manufacturers are going for the "Euro" look with the projector headlights and flared fenders and such...not feeling the Altezza taillights though.

Re: 2008 STi

I agree the looks have definately gone down hill. Their only model that looks better than the last is the B9 Tribeca. My mom bought a 2007 Legacy thi year and I like that far more than the 08's.

Re: 2008 STi

Why does it look like it's got a MazdaSpeed3 front end and a Mazda CX-7 rear end?

I'll take an '04-'07 over that any time thank you.

Re: 2008 STi

I think and feel that the wholecar hasbeen changed to much now...

I really loved the older ones, i like the way that it (like the lancer evo) shows its rally roots. Real carenthousiasts appreciated it because of that, you know some people do like boxy, and imo they made it look and sound awesome....

But the 2008 one, only one thing in my mind now: "Hmmmmmmm!"

Re: 2008 STi

Now it looks similar to everything else on the market.

I bet you'll see a lot more of the '08 STI's than you'd think, it'll appeal to a larger market with it's subtle looks. A lot of people didn't like the 'boy racer' image of the big wing of the previous STi's. Oh well...

There is an '08 WRX? Oh, you mean that AWD Camry. Yeah, I know what you are talking about.

Re: 2008 STi

funny thing is, I remember people complaing that the old, old (original) Impreza looked like a Japanese taxi with bits stuck on.
