How much horse power?

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro. rebuilt motor. idk if it is bored ut, has ported and polishes heads, expensive iridium spark plugs and wires. new cat, functional hood scoop with k + N filter. wat does the stock motor run and wat do you think i am running. wat does a purge canister switch do. would that cause it to crank a few times until it starts. it isnt starting rite away

Have no idea what HP estimates might be, etc... you need to give us more details on the engine... 3.8l V6, 305, 350... if the heads were ported and polished that would ahve a decent effect on HP, but I am guessing the only way you'd know for sure would be to get it dyno'd.

Re: How much horse power?

i agree, these guys will need alot more info to answer the question regarding power output of the engine.

as for the starting issue, many cars dont fire up right away. there may be three or four cranks before it fires. thats normal. if its cranking for like five seconds or more then youve got an issue. nice thing about your 97 is it will tell you if anythings wrong with it, and usually exactly whats wrong with it. have it scanned for error codes. gods gift to driveability diagnostics

Re: How much horse power?

any guesses on why it takes a while to crank, does air injection hav effect on this? and can a charcoal canister. or purge canister switch cause the excess fuel to stay in ther and foul the plugs or something?
