1997 Venture-Q&A please

Hi, I have just bought a chev veenture and it has some problems-hoping someone can help.
**Drivers window-I can hear it working but window does not move-makes noise in up or down position but glass does not move??
**Drivers seat-Does not work at all?? is there a wiring diagram for this?
**Speedometer stopped working-wiring diagram needed or advise?
**cruise is not working?
Other than that I noticed when I floored it to pass(highway) the ABS and TCS lights both came on and stayed on until i restarted the van and then they are off (and have been off ever since)??
I'd also like to know how to tell what options my van came with? I see posts about power sliding doors and such but I don't know exactly what options are included in my van? Is there a way to tell by serial number or something? Thanks and I know it's a long list but I know your all up to helping me as I am a member of other forums here and always get exellent advise.

Re: 1997 Venture-Q&A please

Your abs/tcs dash light is probably due to short in your rear brake ligtht assembly where only your third brake light may be coming on. When this happens it takes out your cruise as well. Probably a short or ground issue on one or both rear circuit bds. (tailight assemblies). Make sure that your plug in harness connector hasn't shorted as well, as my 97's did. Both rear brake lights out, only third brake light on, as well as ABS and TCS idiot lights on. If you buy new cicrcuit bds only to solve your problem, goop weatherproof silicone caulk over the connection on both sides once you prove it works to prevent this shorting out from happening again. Design flaw by GM. Who would ever place any connection in the direct drain path of the rear hatch. The other option you have which costs about $5 is to label the harness wires that plug into the circuit board as to their location on the mating plug, cut the plug off the harness, attach connectors to each wire, cut down all 4 sides of the circuit bd plug about 3/8th to 1/2 in exposing the 5 pins. Be sure to clean off the shorted middle, thin prong/pin carefully. Attach the mating connector from the location markings you did earlier. Test the brakes, notice that your ABS/TCS dash lights are now out, and apply weatherproof silicone to the connections so that water, etc cannot collect at the harness or connections. The McGyver way, but my circuit has worked for over a year incident-free.

For you power DS seat not working, it is probably due to moisture getting into and shorting one of the wires in the harness that runs under the PS front carpet floor area.

May need a new motor or two-up toggle switch for power window.
