Reprogramming auto A/C kick-in temp?

This time of year I get a tad frustrated with the AUTO temperature settings in regard to A/C.

Ya know, the air temp. is getting cooler yet since it's above 40F or so, the climate control system wants to activate the A/C every friggin' time the car is started. So fed up am I that the need to somehow find a fix is upon me.

So, I will ask if anyone knows how to reprogram (or reconfigure) the climate control system to a higher cut-in temperature for the A/C?

Vehicle is a 1999 Grand Prix GT.

Merci!

Welcome to AF.

The CJ2 ACC has a diagnostics mode but I have not seen provision to reprogram the ACC system for raising the programmed 40 degrees F and under for compressor cut off.

Thats why I don't let the HVAC control it. I hate the way they have it set up. Run it manually.
