Ball Joints

Hey Guys,
I need to install lower ball joints on my 84 K10 4x4 truck, but not real sure exactly what will have to come off the axle to begin. I know the wheel, and possibly the brake caliper. Also, when I install the new ball joint, is there some special tool that is required for pressing into the axle?

Re: Ball Joints

Yes there is to get the spindle off and it held in by 5 or 6 nuts wich are 9/16 or 11/16.Most parts stores, any Mac,Matco,Cornwell and Snap On tool dealer will sell the tool.Go with a moog ball joint, they have a lifetime warranty and will pay the labor.Do not get a cheap ball joint and there is one way to tell: Blue boot, cheap ball joint and a black boot, the high quality ball joint.
