PVC Pipe Moisture
I was under the hood yesterday and noticed moisture on the PVC pipe, before the actual valve (coming off VC). I wiped it off and it's a yellowish color, but doesn't smell like oil though. When the car sat for month from the accident it also built up moisture too. I used heater hose when I had to replace it. Any ideas on why it's wet?

Re: PVC Pipe Moisture
You mean the PCV valve? Not sure why it's wet, has it been raining lately and under the hood will just collect some moisture?

Re: PVC Pipe Moisture
Ya I always get the ordering messed up... PVC, PCV... all the same.
Nope been dry. Its just wet on the hose. Nothing else is wet or anything. Does the heater hose absorb at all? I mean it was soaked when the car didn't even move for a month. So I don't know. Garage is dry.

Re: PVC Pipe Moisture
PCV - Positve Crankcase Vent
Wild guess. There was moisture inside the hose from before and then when it sat for awhile it started to absorb through the hose? I have no idea. Take apart the hose and see if it's wet inside. Probably not something you need to worry about though. |
