2000 Focus Extreme Road Noise

Hey all, I have a 2000 Focus with 94k miles on it. When I drive the car it makes an extremely load vibration/noise that sounds like its comming from the front of the vehicle. I also notice that if I tilt the steering wheel slightly to the right it does not make this noise. However, when I tilt the wheel to slightly to the left is what it's present. I've replaced my front pads, front rotors, so I don't think the brakes are the issue. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dave

wheel bearings. have a guy from the ford place take a quick ride with you down the road enough so that'll he'll hear it.

with the way it sounds it should only be one of them

Probably right about the wheel bearings. However, if you have too much air in the tires it will bring the road noise into the car.

Re: 2000 Focus Extreme Road Noise

Thanks for the advice. I'll check my air in the tires tonight to make sure they aren't high/low. Is there any indication as far as what wheel bearing may be bad if it only happens when turning then wheel to the left? Not sure if the two are related or not, but just figured i'd ask.

Also, any guess as to what a wheel bearing replacement is going to cost having it installed at a dealership? Trying to decide if it's something I'm going to tackle myself due to cost, or if I'll just let the dealer do it to save myself the headache.

Thanks,

Dave
