95 SL2 Trans problem!

Hi to everyone in the Saturn section! I stick around Chrysler mostly, as I own 2, plus my mom's van and my friend's Dodge. ANYWAY, I bought a Saturn SL2 as an investment car, you know: buy - fix - sell - profit. Before I say anything else, I should let you know that my dad is a transmission mechanic, so the repair is free for me, except for wasting my time and effort to pull it out of the car, which we did twice already. So laying that aside, here's how it is: I bought the car from a guy trying to flip the car like I'm doing, except he's not a mechanic, so he had someone install a junkyard trans into the car. Obviously, the car had a problem when I bought it. Whether or not it was the same problem as before the trans was replaced, I don't know. So I tow it to the shop, take out the trans, and my dad rebuilds it. Put it in, oops, no reverse gear, my dad missed a washer/o-ring. Ok, fine, out, fix, and back in again. Yay, reverse, oops, same problem as before we even towed it.

Now here's the current problem (same as before I bought it, but not sure if same as before the last guy replaced the trans): when the engine is cool, all is well. When the engine is warmed up, the trans starts going out of gear, basically like neutral, and the engine races, because my foot's on the pedal. If I let go of the pedal, it catches on again and goes, but this repeats, if I push the gas too hard, it goes out of gear again. This happens around 40-45 mph at first, but that problematic mph range decreases, over the course of about 2 minutes, until I can't go faster than 25 because it keeps going out of gear. It seems to help if I put it in 2 or 3, but it still acts stupid. It seems like it doesn't want to shift up on occasion, as well.

My dad got a valve body from the junkyard, and I installed that today, and the same thing happens! Right now, my dad thinks it's either an oil flow problem, with the radiator (we replaced BOTH oil filters with new ones and put in only new oil), or a computer problem, which seems more likely to me, because the check engine light is on, but the scanner only reports code 11 something like trouble codes on trans computer. No description of that code, and there's only one power train computer. Try to check the trans codes an I get the same code. A trouble code that tells you that there are trouble codes. Genius. This is really pissing me off, no matter what I do, it doesn't help. I'm going to the junkyard on wednesday, I'll pick up a computer. I was hoping someone here has had experience with this? I'd be thankful for any input. - Thanks!

You're going to want to post this at the Saturn Fans forums. I doubt anybody here has the knowledge to help you with your problem.
