05 Maxx range selector not working

I have an 05 Maxx, and the tranny range selector is not working. Works fine in "D" but when you move it to "L" it goes to, or will hold in 3rd, but the button on the side wont move it to 2nd or 1st. Any Ideas?

Re: 05 Maxx range selector not working

The Range Selector feature is ONLY supposed to work in "L".

In 3 1/2 years, I've never used it. It's a poor design.

Re: 05 Maxx range selector not working

Sounds like button malfunction, try pressing it a lot of times and it may come out of it. I did not use mine for a while and it would not work, after working the button a dozen times it started working. I use L a lot but not too much 1 or 2.

Re: 05 Maxx range selector not working

Turned out to be a broken wire leading to the switch under the center console.
