Whirling noise
Ok I know you all seen enough of this heading...
After reading so many comment on this noise I was like ok, I have a bad Fan Clutch... Well I replace it over the weekend ( about an hour ) and I started the truck... Still makeing same noise..... To me it sounds like it is coming from the alternator... If is it going bad... could it make a like whirling noise?? This noise is coming from the driverside of the engine right around the alternator.... It is a '05 TB with about 45,000 miles the noise started about 4-5 months ago at the typical chevy squeek.... no more squeek, just whirling all this time... Thanks Scott

Re: Whirling noise
try the idler pulley....use a long screwdriver on bolt head attaching pulley with engine running(being VERY careful)...you should hear the rattle/grating noise through the handle. kinda common on those. if you buy the pulley and it has a bracket on it, just change the pulley, so much easier. let us know!
