95 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Vortec
Since I bought my Jimmy I have replaced the water pump, thermoset, temp. sensor. It has not overheated since the waterpump was replaced but the temp still goes up to 240 and then goes right back down. what else could it be? and i think my cpi is bad too. we replaced the regulator and it still idles rough and smells of gas near the front of the jimmy. can anyone help?

Re: 95 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Vortec
After replacing the CPI regulator and/or fuel supply & return lines, turn the keyswitch on and check for leaks before installing the plenum top.
The high engine looks like there's still some air in the cooling system. Does the heater put out hot air consistantly. |

Re: 95 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Vortec
The noise is probably an air pocket in the cooling system. This link tells how to remove it:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=469926 The fuel pressure regulator seldomly goes bad. The more likely culprit is the lines or "Nut Kit". The "how to" section at the beginning of the Blazer section also has some good threads telling/showing how to do it. |

Re: 95 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Vortec
Here's the fuel info Old Master is refering to. The first 4 pictures apply as the Nut Kit lines crack & leak fuel in time. My '92 CPI unit is still in good shape but the regulator and "Nut Kit" lines have been replaced.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=473110 You likely need to replace your radiator cap to stop the gurgling noise since Eric doesn't recommend cleaning one up to sqeak by...lol |

Thank you so much you guys. Would you happen to know what the actual name for the "nut kit" is called? the guys at autozone have no clue what I'm talking about.

Re: 95 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Vortec
The nut kit is also available at most chain type autoparts store now in the bright red HELP! section. If they don't have it in stock, usually only takes a day to get it...part number 55163

The brake hose on the passanger side is leaking and is dry-rotted, BAD. What is the easist way to get the old hose off without damaging the where the new hose will go one at?
