99 Ford Ranger speed sensor...

Hi,

Wondered if anyone has replaced the speed sensors in the 99 before? It looks like it may be in the hub, but parts store gave me units that look to be easilly removed then replaced without tampering with the hub. I took the tire off and see no spot for these. Are they in the hub?

Thanks.

Re: 99 Ford Ranger speed sensor...

Don't know if you've figured out where they go yet or not, but if it's like on my 97 Taurus (which would make sense) then it's actually behind the hub where it reads a toothed wheel that's part of the axle. Unfortunately my repair manual cuts off in 92 (since my Ranger is a '90) so I can't be more specific, but I do know that Autozone's website (www.autozone.com) has some good stuf on part location and some basica repair info. Check them out, it might help you if you haven't solved your problem.
