suspension

i bought me a 97 civic ex from a used dealership completly stock a month ago. i just noticed that my rear of my car is lower than the front by measuring the gap between the fender and the top of the tire. its parked on flat ground and lookslike this. i just wanted to knows if its the stock suspension or not. im goin 2 get me a lowering kit and wanted to know if i do that since it replaces the stock suspension if it will fix the uneven gap

Re: suspension

Yeah that'll be the stock suspension. My 96 ex does the same thing. When you're looking for performance lowering springs, some have the front end a little lower of a drop than the rear. That might be what you want.

Re: suspension

When digging into suspension, do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a good setup. You will more than likely want to buy an adjustable setup in case you decide to raise it up for a variety of reasons (i.e. fitting a larger rim/tire under the fender)

Re: suspension

i might get tein springs 1.5 front, 1.5 rear, from jhpusa.com, but i was wondering if wen u take out stock and put in new suspension like the 1 i listed, if it equals out the gap and drops both sides and the gap on front and rear is even instead of one side being a bigger gap than the other side?

I'm not real sure on that, but just like Schister66 said, you might want to go with an adjustable coilover setup that way you can tune your suspension exactly how you want it.

Re: suspension

You probably should go a little lower in the front. Most setups are like .25-.5 inch lower in front. It should be even after the new shocks/springs / coilovers. IF not then something else is the problem.
