Timing Belt ?

A friend has a 1999 or 2000 Jeep Cherokee (not sure which model). Do Cherokee's have a timing belt ? Cannot find information in this forum. I'm thinking maybe they have timing chains that do not need replacing.

Appreciate the help.

Re: Timing Belt ?

It has a timing chain. There's no scheduled replacement in the FSM I could find.

Re: Timing Belt ?

Thank You. My Nissan has a timing chain too - I guess more car makers have gone in the timing chain direction.
