HVAC question

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (3800 series2 supercharged) with dual climate control.
Another noob with an HVAC question...
I read some of the other posts and needed additional guidance.
I have poor tools and no service manual.
I've checked the fuses and all good there. Didn't check fuse relay under hood (didnt know I needed to).
Symptoms: I can use the controls and I can hear the hiss when turning the temp up and down. Those are actuall the good symptoms. The bad symptom: No matter the setting I have no fan.
I assumed it to be the blower. I noticed blowers run about $20. So I give it a go. 6 screws later I'm beyond done. Am I amost there or should I just go to a pro?

Re: HVAC question

You may almost be there. Just remove the passenger side dash kick panel, then remove the bolts holding the blower motor and drop down. Undo electrical connector.

Then apply 12 volts and a ground to the blower motor to bench test. If blower doesn't work then your problem is the blower. If it works then replace the blower motor resistor since I am assuming you have the manual dual climate control system.

And welcome to AF.

Re: HVAC question

might be a miss print, but the blower will be about $110.00. If you got auto climate control, you will not have resistor, just a blower motor.

The ACC systems have a blower motor control module not just a blower motor.
