Exclamation 98 Blazer Total Electrical Failure

My daughter's Blazer quit running on her. It appears to be a total electrical failure. I checked the battery and it is ok. None of the lights will come on and when the key is turned on nothing happens, not codes, no lights, absolutely nothing. I checked all of the fuses in the fuse box and they are oK. My thought is that maybe there is a fusable link causing this, but I don't know where to look. I would appreciate any help!

Re: 98 Blazer Total Electrical Failure

No, like I said, there is not indication of any power. It is as if the battery had been removed. Without at least some power, they will not be able to read any codes. I am stumped!

Sorry, mixed your question with others I was answering.

No power: I'd check

-battery terminals/cables all the way down to the starter/ground(a ground may be loose or disconnected)(follow wires and make sure they are tight and intact)
-all fuses/relays underhood in power distribution box

try that and respond back

Re: 98 Blazer Total Electrical Failure

You need to get a voltmeter and check for voltage at the battery itself, at the under hood fuse box, the battery cables and see what you get. You could have a bad battery, bad battery cables, it could be a ignition swtich, it could be a few things. Get a voltmeter and do some probing and see whats there.
