Lost Instrument light today

Not sure what happened. My instrument lights somehow died today so at night I can't read the Mileage/Gas/Battery etc. My radio still works and headlights and all turn signals are ok. Its only the lights in the instrument display and dimmer. Dimmer still operates the overhead lights and gauges still light up when key is on.

Also I am now getting a constant chime when I open the door, key removed and no lights on. This started at the same time, so I guessing its connected to my problem. When I close the door the chime stops. With the key and door open its a slower chime. When I remove key the chime is faster. And the illumination lights behind my blower/air controls are also out.

Any help or advice?...please and thank you.

Are you certain you have running lights on the rear?

In the old days if the dash lights went out, the tailights were ususally out too. Meant checking for a fuse.

These vans have been known to burn out the circuit boards in the rear taillights...actually, the bulbs melt into the board(s). There is a thread somewhere that indicated that the front park / signal light sockets also burn out.

If the bulbs have melted in the circuit boards in the taillights, you may have burned out a fuse in the process.

Something to check. Hope this helps.

Hopefully someone else will catch this discussion and add their two cents.
