AC clutch replacement
I need to replace only the AC clutch on 3.4L. Will the freon escape? It makes mild scraping noise when off. Purchased new clutch for $50. More instruction needed as well. Thanks!

Re: AC clutch replacement
Thanks!
The AutoZone sales guy that sold me the clutch thought that the small hub (looks like a seal rides on it) on the clutch center protruded into the refrigerant section in the pump and the Freon would be released. But if you replaced it with no refrigerant loss I will proceed. Please confirm: no R134 loss? I have a 2000, what year was yours? Do you think Auto Zone or other auto stores that rent tools may have this set? I have seen some puller sets at Harbor Freight. Perhaps they offer what I need. Do you have any pics or dimensions of what you made? Perhaps I can duplicate or modify what I have. Is this job done from top or bottom. What's with the right front fender plastic shield? Do I have to remove it or other items? Does it come loose and rub or allow road dirt on the compressor? (I have to drive on gravel roads... ) Thanks again!
