Re: Keys
I'm fairly certain you cannot program a Nissan key on your own, unless you have the equipment the dealerships have. I priced out getting a new key made for mine when I bought that car; if I remember correctly it was over 100 bucks. Too bad they aren't like Chevy keys, turn the key 50 times, play with the power locks, stomp your feet and bam new key.

Re: Keys
If you have one working Key, I have heard ( don't quote me on it ) that if you go to home depot they have a way of cutting a key and programing it. If it doesn't work then the dealer is a must!!.

Re: Keys
If you try the home depot thing let us know if it works. I wouldn't definately get a spare myself.

Re: Keys
What year Maxima do you have.
I programmed 2 additional keys for my 2001 Maxima. I will try to look for the instructions (don't hold you breath). But I bought the key blanks from some ebay dealers. They send you the programming. If I remember correctly, it was very similar to progeamming the remotes. |
