99 Intrigue - Dirvers Side Window

Hi everyone,
My daughter has a 99 Intrigue and the driver's side widow is stuck in the down position. When you hit the switch to roll it up, it makes a noise like the switch is engaged and working, and trying to move the window ... but nothing moves ... and then then it shuts off .... the noise lasts about 2 seconds. I was thinking of removing the door panel, etc. to look at everything and diagnose. Any thoughts on this?, and has anyone removed the door panel? and would this make sense? any tips on removal?

Thanks,

Rick

Sounds like you are on the right track by removing the door panel to investigate. However, I haven't had to take mine off yet at all to see what is back there in way of anything. Be careful I suppose. Look for screws and be gentle when pulling the panel off so as to not break it. Pry it off with ease.

Theres how to remove the panel properly. I would like to point out that there are also two screws on the very bottom of the door panel, the portion that would be parallel to the ground, that arent shown in that guide. But the rest is spot on.

The only advice I would have to offer is that window regulators typically are the problem in these cars. But in your case it almost sounds like a cable has snapped? Rust perhaps?

Re: 99 Intrigue - Dirvers Side Window

Thanks for the advice. Removing everything went perfectly and it was the window regulator (the cable was all pinched and tangled). I just ordered a new one and I'm sure installation will go perfectly as well!

Thanks,

Rick
