Thanks Everyone!!!

Hey guys, I just wanted to give a quick shout out of thanks to our great moderators and every one who contributes to the grand prix forums.

Recently My girlfriend and were going to a nearby town when my GTP out of nowhere stalled. Noticed the "TRACK OFF" light was lit, and the car wouldnt restart, so I got out and did a quick check. No Spark. Messed around with a few things and got it going and drove straight home.

With the knowledge I gained here on AF I know that these are classic symptoms of a flaky Crankshaft Position Sensor. Not wanting to get stranded and since the CPS was only a 45.00 part from GM, i decided to tackle the job. I also have to thank you moderators for having such detailed information on this repair. It was great knowing exactly what tools I needed and what bolts to use with the harmonic balancer puller. I'm sure I could have done this without the info, but with it saved me a TON of time. The whole thing only took my about an hour and a half.

So far the car runs great and hasnt stalled. Maybe its in my head, but at idle in park my car used to have a barely noticable missfire. Now it seems like its gone. Also would a new CPS give better gas milage? It seems like city driving my mpg is better.

But anyways, Thanks again to everyone who contributes to AF!! Its Great!!

Re: Thanks Everyone!!!

You are very welcome tblake, and keep up the good work yourself. I've known you for a while from the Lumina forums, and you're a rare young man. Most people your age are cocky, opinionated and need a good slap upside the head. You've been a good contributor here on AF.

I know I'm a little biased, but the GP forum is one of (if not THE) best on AF. Also, Bob (bnaylor) and Lynn (GTP Dad) are two of the best mods here. The Tips and Maintenance subforum they created saves a lot of time and rehashing for all of us. They are always accessable, highly knowlegeable, and genuine good guys. As a regional mod, I haven't been as involved, but I do my best to help them keep things running smooth here too.

Re: Thanks Everyone!!!

Thanks for the compliments. We've come a long ways from the old days and more credit goes to our members who have made the Grand Prix forum one of the most active in participation according to our AF Admin and within the top 5 forums on all of AF.

I've noticed it too and I've heard about 5 other people notice it on these forums too. Weird
