Widest tires for a 98 Rodeo???

Anyone know what the widest tires are, that you can run on a 98 4WD Rodeo? I have the chance to get a new set of 265-75R16s for free. I would be putting them on 16"x 7" rims off a 2000 Rodeo.

Also, would I need to upgrade the shocks or struts?

Thanks
Jeff

The 265's would fit, but IIRC, you'll need to crank up the front torsion bars to clear them on the 2nd generations.

If I had the chance to get a BRAND-NEW set of 265's, you BET I'd be taking them. A good A/T tire in the 265 size you're looking at anywhere from $150-200/tire.

TAKE THE DEAL!

Hopefully others with the 2nd gen's 98+yrs will chime in.

On stock rims they might be ok. Might have to cut/pound the seam inside the wheel well behind the plastic. Not sure if it would need to be lifted to fit them. If you had aftermarket rims with less backspacing you would need to trim the fenders and/or lift it.
