Fuel pump went out after two weeks
We replaced the fuel pump.
It is in the gas tank. It worked so good and then today I was turning into a parking spot and it died. I tried to start it again and the fuel pump is making a really loud noise when I crank it and it won't start. Can someone please tell me what that means ? |

Re: Fuel pump went out after two weeks
Was it an ACdelco pump? If not then that could be your problem. Try having someone beat on the gas tank while you crank the engine. That worked for me for awhile when the pump in my old truck was going out. You never said the model of vehicle but if it is the pump making a bunch of noise then it has probably failed.

Re: Fuel pump went out after two weeks
It is a 1996 6 cylinder chevy PU.
The man at the parts store rewired the fuel pump to the harness for me and I am wondering if he could have done something wrong or if the pump was just bad. It is a Carter fuel pump. |

Re: Fuel pump went out after two weeks
When it comes to fuel pumps the shop I work at always uses OE pumps. Never aftermarket unless the customer buys it themselves.
