Power Plug/Cigar Lighter

Hi just bought a 2001 Monte Carlo. I like the car so far but one minor problem the power plug has no power I checked the fuse and even replaced to no avail. Any idea?

are you sure you checked the correct fuse and did you check to see if the inside of the socket is badly corroded ?

i would check and see if there is any power from the fuse socket with a amp tester
