Wheel bearing & "tire noise"?
Was told that I need a left, rear wheel bearing for my 2001 Z24 Cavalier. The place wanted $500. I decided to go somewhere else and they told me it was the right, rear wheel bearing. I told them to fix what was broken. I paid $275.
Then the manager said that there is still some noise and that is a result of me not rotating the tires. (?) And the noise won't go away until I buy two new tires. Has anyone ever heard of this scenerio? |

Re: Wheel bearing & "tire noise"?
Your tires are probably "cupped". You can feel that it's bumpy - run your hand down the face of the tread. When you go down the road, it creates a rhythmic vibration that sound like a growl sometimes.
So to answer your question; Yes. I have heard of that. It's pretty common. |
