reinstalling a coil pack problem

i have a 2000 intrigue 3.5 v6. while replacing the power steering the wires to the coil pack got pulled out. i bought a new coil pack and cannot figure out which wires go in which spots. there are 6 wires and rubber hoses at one end. the other end just plugs in. i read in one of the other forums that it just went in like that, but we put the wires in and now we have no speedometer, the catalatyc converter pipe is getting really red, and the pickup is not real good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Re: reinstalling a coil pack problem

ok, on 3.4 (VIN E) and 3.1 (VIN M) engines plug wires go onto coil pack in this sequence... from top to bottom 1,4,6,3,2,5 and into spark plugs in this sequence... from front to back (left side) 5,3,1 (right side) 2,4,6
wires should be marked
on 3.8 (VIN K) coil pack (same orders) 6,3,2,5,4,1 Left=2,4,6 right=1,3,5,
hope this helps-Rob-
