Noisy lifter -- should I replace it?

I had a very noisy lifter on number one cyl. and dumped a half quart of rislone in the crankcase. Drove it and in tem minutes time it had quieted down to normal.
I am trying to decide if I should change out the lifters since it is an easy job and not that expensive or should I just let things go as they are?

Re: Noisy lifter -- should I replace it?

Glad you got it fixed. That Rislone is good stuff. I wouldn't replace the lifters unless one of them started making noise and wouldn't quiet down with a shot of Rislone.

Whenever a cam is replaced it is suggested that the lifters be replaced at that time because one is new and the other has worn surfaces. I'd think it would be the same if the lifters were replaced and the cam not replaced. One would have worn surfaces and the other not which could lead to premature failure.
