Exclamation cd stuck in changer in 05 silverado

Trying to listen to a book on cd. Loaded 4 of the 6 cds into the changer, then it just froze. Wont move, play, or give them back, na da. Stereo works fine, just no cd. Would at least like them out to listen else where.

might have to tear the radio appart to them out.

Do you hear anything moving or trying to move in there like the motor?

No noise at all. How hard is it to tear out? Do you suppose I would need to just replace the changer or the entire system? I've always prided myself on being pretty mechanical for a girl, but this may be a little to technical for me. lol

Re: cd stuck in changer in 05 silverado

I think replacing the entire system would be easier. Unfortunetly, those systems are about $500 from the dealer, you may be able to get it cheaper on ebay. Or you can just go aftermarket. and spend $200-300. But if you find a stock replacement all you would need to do pull back the front facia (just held on by clips). That will expose the bolts hold the head unit in. From there just remove the screws and pull out the radio, but be careful, you will need to pull of the wiring harness and antena cable before you pull it completely out.
However, you may still be under warrenty. how many miles do you have on the truck?

Well, you have your standard places like, Bestbuy and Circuit City or you can go more custom like Crutchfield or Tweeters.

Re: cd stuck in changer in 05 silverado

before doing anything else, I had the same problem in my 04, and all I did was disconnect the car battery for a few minutes, and let everything reset and tried to take everything out again. Worked for me, hope it works for you!
