C/K 2500 Year 2000 Front discs/pads replacement
I got the Haynes repair manual and it doesn't explain well how to replace the front discs and pads.
How do I get to the removal of the disc after removing the brake caliper. If I remove the driveaxle/hub nut do I just need to use a hub puller to be able to get to the disc. Thanks. Mike |

Re: C/K 2500 Year 2000 Front discs/pads replacement
Im not sure that you have to pull the hub, on the 1500's there is the bracket that the caliper mounts to, take that bracket off, (two bolts on the back side of the hub) and the disk should come off, like i said before, im not completely sure about the 2500's, there is a chance that you would have to take the hub nut off, but i would check with someone else first, the rotor might just be stuck and need some persuasion to get off.

Re: C/K 2500 Year 2000 Front discs/pads replacement
After reading carefuly and switching from one chapter to the other this is what I found...
I must remove the four bolts(rear) holding down the hub. Then tap from side to side to side to brake the hub loose. Pull out hub assembly using a puller. Bring the assembly to a shop to have the old disc pressed off and this is my next question. Do I really need to get it to a shop or can I do otherwise ? |

Ok, you got me, ive never heard of having to take a hub some where to get the disk/rotor pressed on and off a hub assembly. Someone else is going to have to chime in on this one
