Alt light comes on

Have a 02 Rendevous that has a intermediate alt light that comes on. I have replaced the Alt and that worked for a week then the light started coming on again. Any Ideas? Thanks

Loose belt? Tired battery pehaps. bad cable connection may be possible also.
