Exclamation Will a 2.4 liter RT4 engine from a neon fit into the 99 sunfire gt?

My friend Eric recently put a new engine into his car(obviously the RT4) and i wanted to know if it would fit into the 99 sunfire gt. They are the same size(2.4 liter) and they sit the same way in the car. If not is there any better engines i can drop in there. Mine is a piece and i'm sick of working on it.
any suggestions?

i'm checking now to see if i can switch 2.4 to 2.2.
i believe a 2.2 can be done with engine ,trans ,harness ,and ecm.keep in touch and i'll let you know soon.
i wouldn't attempt the neon cross over.

Honestly, Don't worry about it. I threw a rod in my car earlier today and i just traded the piece of shit in for 2000. (those asses got ripped off bad) In anycase i got an 02 grand am gt with a 3.4 ltr V6. Sadly, it's automatic. so this thread can be closedopcorn:
