Domino effect happening to my suburban!! Help

2001 Chevy Suburban.

Hey everyone.

Need some advice if I should take my truck to the dealer to fix or is it simple enough for me to figure out.

Problem #1 - It started with the push button lock on the liftgate not working. You push and the window won't open. I can't manually lock and unlock either. When I do get the liftgate to open, the window will pop open when I shut the gate. Then when I try to shut the window, it won't stay shut unless I push hard on it. And now when all the doors are closed to include the cargo door and window, the cargo door ajar message appears and the interior lights stay on.

Problem #2 - Power mirrors won't adjust. Only "UP". No left, right, or down. On both mirrors.

All this started a few weeks ago and progressively something else comes up. I looked at the liftgate lock machanism and can't determine anything from it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Domino effect happening to my suburban!! Help

The same thing happened to my 2001 Suburban. I took apart the back panel (from the inside) and could see a piece of plastic out of place. Once I did that, the door worked again. However, that only lasted for a short period of time. When I looked at it again, that plastic piece was broken.

I have yet to actually purchase that plastic piece but I think it should be an easy fix.

My mirrors are still working ok.
