1993 Caravan Overhead Console Gone Black

The overhead console of my 1993 Caravan has gone black.
Any suggestions on what it could be ?

Anyone know how it is removed ?

Thank you.

It is blank and non functional.
Could it be the sensor/module ?
Where is it located and what does it look like?

On my 96 its powered directly off the junction block (interior fuse panel) via a 10 ampre fuse. Strange as it may seem it doesn't appear it has an input from the body control module. It gets it's info from the temp sensor behind the front bumper and the powertrain control module (engine brain) on the drivers side fender wall outboard of the battery.

I'll check it out.
Do you know what the sensor looks like?

It's a small diameter cylinder about 1.5 inches long on a small bracket with two wires.

Thank you.

I read that if one of the wires were damaged it not only would not give temp readings but the whole console would not work.
Is this correct?

If not, do you have any idea why the console is blank?
Fuses are fine.

I found out how to remove and repair. ( The modual is toast )
Swing back the two visors you will see 2 screws, remove them. The front of the console will drop down.
Push the console forward a bit and it will drop down. It is now hanging by two wire harnesses.

Remove the front harness, that is on the modual. The modual is held on with 2 screws, after removing them, remove the two small ribbon cables, gently pull the modual out. It is now held in by a small pivot that can be expanded to release the modual.

Put in the replacement modual and reverse the proceedure.

I called Chrysler and the moduals are no longer available for my 1993. Just as well as they are $701.00
I got the whole console from the auto wrecker for $30.00
Make sure the modual is there after removing from the wrecked van as I went through 3 before getting one that was not already removed.
