How much weight for traction?

I have a 1984 f150 2wd. Going to get sand bags for traction, how much weight should I put back there?

We have an F250 and typically put 6 sand bags across the rear axle. This may be a bit of overkill but I don't slide....

In my old 2 WD I used to toss in around 500#.
