Galant vs Protegay

Its been a while.

So i'm driving down the main drag in the G-lant and some highschool punk pulls out of the crappy autoparts store in town (Autozone). Tires squeeling the uberness of badass he pulls up next to me. Of course i give him the look of impending doom that is often mistaken for the look of "what the hell are you doing?" I pull ahead in traffic and he ends up behind me at the next light. I get going and the lane ends that i'm in so i go ahead and pull over with about 700 yds to go. i see his protegay screaming up in my rear view. downshift into second and get boost going. mmmm boost....

the kid gets up next to me as i shift into third. i look over and he's freaking out because of the sound my poor car made. starts yelling "Is that thing boosted?!!?" my passenger window doens't work though so i blow him off and turn off at the next light and i can hear him honking to get my attention still.

update on the car: installed a act 2100 kit and it still leaks a quart of oil every 75-100 miles. i'm sitting at 10psi right now but i'm turning it up when i get the oil leak fixed.

Re: Galant vs Protegay

I'm running more boost than you...

And are you outa Como still? I'll be heading up that way in November, we need to chill again, and I need to check out the DIY job as you have it finished. Otherwise, good kill, and hows about you stick around for a bit?

Re: Galant vs Protegay

Well, under the assumption that Matt is gonna disapear againg, I'll clarify.

Started out life as a Galant GSX. Swapped in a 4G63 and some other goodies from a Galant VR4. We also spilled coolant all over his driveway at one point.

Hence, I here by dub it, Ye Old Galant GSXR4...or not.

Re: Galant vs Protegay

i like it, GSXR4 it is then, though that does make it sound like it is a bike.

i'm at a loss on the leak, i've replaced the rear main which is where i thought it was originally coming from however it did not stop the leak. I did not know though that i wasn't supposed to run synthetic oil until 3k miles after the build, so i need to drain it and put 20-50 back in. I think i might just replace the oil pan seal anyways just to see what it does for me, and if that doesn't work, then i'll keep adding oil until i can't afford it anymore.

or if anyone wants it i'll sell it for 4k.

mbc, ported 14b, k&n 2.5 tbe, afpr, act2100, lsd rear. all i need now is a chip and injectors.

Cassie wtf did you get? i see a mazda symbol and boost. i'm thinking fd? that is completely sick if you have one, and you can just give me a call when you want to hang out. i work a lot, but i think i can squeeze you in.

Re: Galant vs Protegay

God I wish I picked up an FD. Are you kidding me? Seeing how close I live to Kahn. Street port 13B REW+Single Turbo+Steve Kahn=FTW.

No, I picked up a Mazdaspeed3. Needed a daily driver that was reliable but easy to make quick, and that was the only thing that kept me away from picking up one of the local FDs for sale. I was seriously looking into an F Body...till I took a test drive, and not a single Pontiac dealer would budge on their GTO prices (WTF?). Don't bother me that much, a few bolt ons and I'll be perfectly happy where I stand for now (famous last words).

Oh, and I won't buy your car...but if you got a boost gauge, oil pressure, and oil temp gauge handy, I might take them off your hands...
