Are there any hints to replacing a water pump on a 97 Malibu - 6 cyl - any special tools needed?

Re: replacing water pump on 97 Malibu

iTS NOT COMPLICATED - JUST DETAILED. gET A BOOK. yOU COULD NEVER GO THROUGH it without having read first. However, there are threads on it in here. Main thing - remove the motor mount on passenger side, remove accessory belt, remove cruise control - all so you canb have room to work. Trick is getting the cover off of the water pump. You ned to keep the screws in while loosing them. Like I said, get a book. I can do it by rote memory, but I have done several.

Never had to remove the engine mount, just the belt, very easy and straight forward, can be done in about 20 minutes with a little practice...
