No shifting/no acceleration

I just finished extending my intake into my fender but now I'm having a problem with it. Whenever I push down the pedal its like the rpms are going up but its not going faster. Also when I get up to around 5500 RPMs the car seems to stop accelerating totally and the RPMs won't go up anymore. It normally shifts at about 6100-6200 RPMs but I can't get there anymore! I also have no power going up hills.

What did I do!

Re: No shifting/no acceleration

I bet the IAT or MAF has a broken wire or isnt working properly, I'd check those two first.

Then make sure any vacum lines are not leaking.

Lightbulb Re: No shifting/no acceleration

Problem solved.

I checked everything out and all of the lines and wires looked in good condition. I took my cone filter off of the pipe and looked at it and there was about 3" of pipe actually inside the cone! there was no way any air was getting through that so I pulled it back so about 1/2" was in it and tightened everything back down. Everything is good to go now and I can feel the difference ever so slightly.

Next comes exhaust and I'll be closer to runnin with all the 6cyl GA's out there.

Re: No shifting/no acceleration

Great !

The 4 cyl's are peppy ...
no where close to the V6 with the same mods though.

Also it wouldnt hurt to recheck the silicone cuplers clamps after a month or so to make sure the clamps are holding tight.

My SE used to fall off all the time, I could tell because it wasnt making that whistling noise.
Right now my SE CAI is broke due to a slide off

Going to try and fix it up higher in the fender to avoid water, thats another issue with a CAI.
Dont drive through deep water !!
