96 sunfire air lock
my girlfriend has a 96 sunfire i changed the thermostat but she keeps overheating i see the bleeder screw but not sure if engine should be running or not please help it is a 2.2 engine

leave the engine off, open the bleeder, fill the system, close the bleeder and replace radiator cap, start the engine and run it for a few minutes at normal operating temperature, shut off engine and let cool, then recheck level.

so should i drain everything again and start off new lol i am new at sunfires they are complicated
