horizontal headlight adjustment on 97 sedan

Does anyone have a nice clear picture of what to turn to make this adjustment? I have managed to change the vertical adjustment but nothing I turn seems to change the horizontal adjustment.

I'd send a picture, but the location is so hidden and behind things that I can't do it. Look for the top 10mm bolt on the outside and on top of each headlight assembly. There is a one inch gap behind it . The adjustment is straight down in the gap just behind this bolt. It's down about 2 inches. Look for the rubber bumper stops for the hood. You'll see a 1 inch gap just in front of them. The adjustment is straight down in this gap. The adjustments are on the outside of the headlight as opposed to the inside for the the vertical adjustment. They are about the same distance from the center as the veritical adjustments, but towards the outside. They can't be seen from the back. You have to look straight down in the gap between the headlight and the frame. You'll need a flashlight to see them. They are a 4 mm shaft just like the vertical adjustments, only shorter.

Thanks for the reply, although that is the one I turned to change vertical adjustment I believe. I noticed that when I turned this one the bubble level changed so I thought this was the vertical. But I tried turning the one on the other side and watched the light pattern as I turned it and it didnt seem to change anything.

I have had to oil the little gearbox mechanism on those adjusters and free them up. I had the headlights out and managed to get all of the adjusters to work. 3 of the 4 were stuck before I did it.

Well........The inside adjusters are for the veritical and the outside adjusters are for the horiizontal. I've replaced the headlights on my 97 and am sure of this. Changing one will have some affect on the other. You have to go back and forth until it is right.
