hearing a slight tapping noise as you accelerate?
I am hearing a slight tapping noise as you first take off from a stop and just before the transmission shifts through gears. It seems to be coming from the engine and does not do it idling whether in park or just sitting at a light. Any suggestions?

Re: hearing a slight tapping noise as you accelerate?
Start with the basics. Are you using cheap gas? This can cause a "ping" when you accelerate that is timed with the engine. It may also sound like a tap. Or does it sound like a knock? Engine knock has a much deeper tone. If you can check your spark plugs, You could have a bad plug or a coil pack that has gone south.

Re: hearing a slight tapping noise as you accelerate?
I am using shell gasoline so i dont think it could be bad gas, i havent checked the plugs yet. I have heard this could cause it so that will be the first thing i check. Thanks for the advice.
