NEW to American Muscle... please help

Hey, my names Bryce... Ive usually been partial to imports, but after fixing up my civic and having too much fun, i inevitably wrecked it and am now sitting in a 93 S10 pickup 2.8 L V6. ive been throwing around the idea of swappin in a 350 V8 with my friends, but i know absolutely NOTHING as to what all this is going to entail. a buddy of mine has a stock 350 in his truck that he might be partial to sell for the right price, and another buddy of mine told me about a tune port 350 that someone has for roughly $600. or i could try and find a built up crate 350 motor. in all honesty, the only thing i know about this is BIGGER IS BETTER. i know that it would be alot of power for a light pickup, so traction is also a concern. people tell me just to get a posi-track rear end. all that kinda talk is greek to me, like i said i was partial to imports. ill also need a new transmission to go along with the new engine, cuz quite frankly, the one in there now probly doesnt have TOO much life left in it. i like goin fast, i have the need for speed and a lead foot. i wanna try this out. so ANY information, advice, know-how, or input would be VERY helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

Bryce

go with a 700r4 transmisson. it'll bolt right up and you never be unsatisfied. second, the posi rear end. defiantely a must. a posi rear end will make sure you get power to both wheels instead of spinning one wheel all day long. i'll buy that 2.8 from you. name your price. i need one to pull apart and build it up with a twin turbo set up
