5th gen prelude tranny swap?

I used to think it was sort of a farfetched idea, but I guess it's pretty common. Is it difficult to convert a 5th gen lude from auto to manual? A friend of mine is going to swap trannies in his 98 civic, and he says all the holes and spots in the firewall are alreay cut from the factory. I was wondering if that goes with 5th gen ludes as well. Thanks!
